What You Need to Know

Do you perform any physical medical examinations?

As a doula, I am not a medical professional. My role is to support you mentally, emotionally, and physically to your personal degree of comfortability. Any form of physical contact is performed as a comfort measure, not a medical examination.

How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?

Hiring me is a way of including me in your birth community and allows me to advocate for you leaving your partner available to intimately connect with you and the birthing experience. Together, we form a team to create a harmonious birthing environment.

What are your interactions with medical staff like?

I will work with you to create a birth plan that you feel comfortable with and will make sure you're informed on all the ways in which things may not go to plan. I will advocate for you with medical staff firmly and clearly according to your ideal birth experience. I will not speak for you but help you to use your voice.
